Sat, April 5, 2025 at 06:04 AM . Oregon
As the St. Paul High School varsity volleyball team heads into the 2025 season, Head Coach Lesli Hiller and her squad are focused on growth, development, and building a strong team foundation. With a younger roster this year, the team’s offseason has been centered on refining tactical court movement and strengthening team cohesion. Offseason Preparation & Team Development The team has been actively preparing through summer league competition and will take part in the Pacific Northwest Summer Volleyball Tournament in Centralia, WA, this July. Additionally, the team will attend the Guy Enriques Team Camp in August, where players will train intensely while also bonding through team-building activities at Seaside. Key Players to Watch Senior leaders Gabby Gleaves (Outside Hitter) and Lila Wolf (Setter) are expected to play pivotal roles this season. Their experience and leadership will be crucial in guiding the younger players and setting the tone for the team’s performance. Team Bonding & Fitness Beyond on-court training, the team is emphasizing fitness, nutrition, and unity. The Pacific Northwest Summer Volleyball Tournament serves as an overnight event, giving players valuable time together to strengthen their chemistry. Additionally, St. Paul’s preseason retreat at Seaside offers another opportunity for team bonding before the season begins. Community Engagement & Challenges Ahead Many of St. Paul’s players are multi-sport athletes, making them familiar faces within the community. Their involvement extends beyond the court, as they assist with local events such as Rodeo parking and Booster Club concessions. Despite a talented group, the biggest challenge this season will be rebuilding a solid lineup and ensuring younger players adapt to the varsity level. With a strong culture of teamwork and dedication, the St. Paul Buckaroos are determined to rise to the occasion and make their mark this season. Stay tuned as the Buckaroos gear up for an exciting 2025 campaign!
