Summit Academy Bears – 2025 Girls Soccer Offseason Report Offseason Focus For Summit Academy’s girls soccer program, this offseason is all about mastering the fundamentals. “We’ve realized that skipping over the basics has impacted our performance,” said new Head Coach Kelli Pyle. “So we’re putting extra focus on perfect technique and repetition in practice to build a solid foundation for the season ahead.” Special Offseason Events The team is not participating in tournaments or camps this year, instead opting to focus inward on individual development and team chemistry through structured training and open gyms. Notable Additions & Departures There’s been a leadership shift on the sideline as Kelli Pyle takes over as Head Coach, after previously serving as an assistant. She’s joined by Assistant Coaches Caitlyn Zollinger and Alex Morrill, forming a staff focused on growth, accountability, and long-term development.  Players to Watch Coach Pyle is excited about the potential across the entire roster but highlighted a few key contributors to keep an eye on: Kalia Ochoa & Hope Morgan (Midfield): Expect these two to control tempo and creativity in the center of the pitch. Goalkeepers: A strong trio is forming with Brielle Bender, Evie Cox, and Addyson Cherry battling it out to protect the net. Olivia Oakden: “She has star potential—if she puts in the work,” said Coach Pyle. Defensive Backbone: The Bears’ back line features a dependable unit in Adi Naylor, Ella Johnson, and Kacee Shafer ready to anchor the defense. Weight Lifting & Fitness Off-season training is just beginning, but the plan is in place: incorporate weight room sessions this summer and ramp up team-building activities to build unity and grit.  Nutrition There is currently no formal nutrition program in place, but the coaching staff is aware of its importance and may implement guidance in the future.  Coaching Perspective The staff is taking a back-to-basics approach. “We’re building this program from the ground up,” Coach Pyle emphasized. “That means hard work, strong fundamentals, and a mindset of continuous growth.” Fan Engagement & Community Impact The Bears are already planting seeds for the future by inviting young girls in the community to open gym sessions. “We want them to get to know the school, the program, and dream about being part of it one day,” said Pyle. This initiative is helping forge stronger ties with the community and inspire the next generation of players.  Biggest Challenges Ahead The primary challenge will be breaking out of the rebuilding phase. With a developing roster and a new coaching team, the Bears must navigate the growing pains of creating a competitive program. But with structure, spirit, and steady progress, the pieces are beginning to fall into place.
