Offseason Focus This offseason, the Warren Central Golf team is zeroing in on improving their short game—an area that proved to be a challenge last season. Head Coach Jake Parker has made it a priority to tighten up those skills while also focusing on building strength in the team’s younger golfers. The goal is to be more consistent and competitive heading into the new season. Special Offseason Events The team plans to both host and participate in local tournaments this year, not only for preparation but also to assist with fundraising efforts. Additionally, the players will benefit from golf lessons with a local pro in Vicksburg, offering valuable technical refinement and mentorship. Notable Additions & Departures Warren Central will move forward without senior Evan Farrell, who graduated last season. His leadership and experience will be missed, but the team is optimistic about the talent returning this year. Players to Watch Several returning players are poised for standout seasons. Oden Henderson, named last year's most improved player, has taken significant steps forward in his game. Caden House and Cooper Jamison also return as strong contributors. With their combined experience and growth, these athletes are expected to lead the charge for the Vikings this season. Coaching Perspective Coach Parker and the staff are taking a proactive approach this year. Hosting tournaments will not only give the team more competitive reps but also engage the local community. Meanwhile, working with a golf pro ensures that players are learning and refining proper techniques to elevate their game. Biggest Challenges Ahead Shoring up the short game will be the biggest hurdle for the Vikings this year. Combined with the need to physically strengthen younger players, these are areas Coach Parker is laser-focused on as the season approaches.
