Yorkville, IL — The Yorkville Christian Mustangs wrapped up a strong 2024-25 campaign with a 21-12 record and a deep postseason run that ended in the IHSA Regional Final, showcasing a team balanced by seasoned leadership and emerging young talent. Head Coach and Athletic Director Aaron Sovern credited the team’s success to a mix of experienced seniors and a dynamic underclassman backcourt that promises a bright future for the program. Standout Performers Jayden Riley (2026) – The team’s engine and one of the best point guards in the state. Averaged 23 points and 8 assists per game, earning All-State honors as a sophomore. Tray Alford (2027) – Explosive freshman who put up 15 points per game, earning All-Area recognition. Zach Marini (2025) – Reliable scorer with 14 points per game, and a steady contributor throughout the year. Brady Sovern (2025) – Team captain and inspirational leader, returning from a torn ACL to start all 33 games, while shooting 41% from three. Noah Aguado (2025) – Double-double machine averaging 11 points and 11 rebounds. Jordan Purvis (2027) – Young sharpshooter who hit 80 three-pointers and averaged 8 points per game.
