Sun, April 6, 2025 at 04:04 AM . Pennsylvania
Coming off back-to-back appearances in the district finals and state semifinals, Beaver Area High School’s volleyball program is locked in and ready to chase that elusive state title in 2025. Offseason Focus This offseason, the Bobcats have been laser-focused on both individual growth and team chemistry. With a roster full of year-round players and a strong emphasis on the weight room, the program is committed to entering the fall season stronger, faster, and more cohesive than ever. Special Offseason Events To further their development and unity, the team will compete in a one-day tournament at Walsh University in July. Additionally, the team is planning to attend a four-day college/university team camp later this summer to sharpen skills and build bonds that extend beyond the court. Notable Roster Changes The team bids farewell to four graduating seniors, opening the door for younger players, particularly juniors and sophomores, to rise up and claim key roles. Coach Pollins is confident in her team’s depth and is excited to see who steps up. Players to Watch Beaver Area is stacked with talent heading into the fall. Here are some standouts to keep an eye on: Kailyn Connelly (Sr., 6'3") – A dominant Middle/Outside Hitter with college aspirations. Lanie Malobabich (Sr., 6'1") – A versatile Middle/Opposite Hitter with a powerful presence at the net. Aubrey Bumblis (Sr., 5'8") – A seasoned Libero with exceptional court awareness. Jaedyn Brown (Sr., 5'3") – A fiery Outside Hitter known for her grit and hustle. Anna Vinopal (Sr., 5'6") – A steady and reliable Outside Hitter with big-match experience. Kaylee Kisling (Jr., 5'10") – A rising Middle Hitter making waves in club and school volleyball. Kayden Blinn (So., 5'9") – A young Setter with poise beyond her years and a deep understanding of the game. All of these players have committed significant time to offseason training, both in the weight room and in club play, showing serious dedication to their craft and goals of playing at the next level. Strength & Conditioning Commitment Beaver’s athletes train with a dedicated strength and conditioning coach four days a week during the offseason, in addition to their year-round club commitments. The work ethic and discipline shown in the gym have been key to the team's sustained success. Coaching Perspective Coach Pollins and her staff have been running open gyms all summer and leading morning workouts Monday through Thursday. The focus is clear: refine the weaknesses from last season and build on what’s already a championship-caliber program. “We’ve been to the district finals and state semis the last two years—we don’t want to come up short again,” Pollins said. Community Connection Beaver Area’s volleyball program plays an active role in the local community. Through youth summer camps and community nights in partnership with the entire athletic department, the team continues to foster a deep connection with its fans and younger athletes. Biggest Challenges With a tough non-section schedule on the horizon and key roles to fill following senior departures, the Bobcats will be tested early and often. But with strong leadership and depth, they’re ready to rise to the occasion.
