The 2021-2022 water polo season at College Park High School is gearing up to be an exciting one. With a strong team returning and a challenging schedule ahead, the Falcons are ready to make a splash in the pool. Leading the way for the Falcons are the top returning players from last season. These include 3 and 4-year varsity athletes, who have shown great skill and dedication to the team. Among them are senior captains, Jake Wilson and Ava Garcia, who have been an integral part of the team's success in the past years. Wilson is an all-around player with a powerful arm and impressive speed in the water. He can play any position, making him a valuable asset to the team. His leadership skills and experience are also key in guiding the younger players on the team. Garcia, on the other hand, is a skilled defender who shuts down opponents with her quickness and agility. She has a strong understanding of the game and is always willing to help her teammates improve. As a captain, she is responsible for fostering team chemistry and camaraderie, which will be crucial in the long and grueling season ahead. A promising addition to the team this year is sophomore Ethan Chen. Chen has shown great potential in the off-season and is expected to make an immediate impact on the team. His speed, agility, and strategic thinking make him a formidable opponent in the pool. With his determination and hard work, Chen has earned a spot on the varsity team and is ready to prove himself on the big stage. Coach John DeLuca also has his eyes on freshman standout, Emma Nguyen. Nguyen has been playing water polo since she was 8 years old and has already made a name for herself in the water polo community. Her speed and shooting prowess are a major asset to the team, and she is expected to contribute greatly to the Falcons' success this season. As the Falcons gear up for the challenging season ahead, team chemistry and camaraderie will be key to their success. Team captains Wilson and Garcia have taken on the responsibility of building a strong bond among their teammates, both in and out of the pool. They lead by example and create a positive and inclusive environment for everyone on the team. The Falcons' schedule is one to be reckoned with, as they enter the Foothill Division of the DAL Diablo Athletic League.
