As the basketball season starts to gear up, all eyes are on Lynbrook High School's girls' team and their quest for a successful season. We had the chance to sit down with Coach Admin Admin to get a preview of what to expect from the team this year. With an overall goal of improving throughout the season and qualifying for CCS playoffs, Coach Admin Admin emphasizes the importance of trusting the process and each other, as well as bringing energy every day. This mindset will surely be key to the team's success this season. Returning players #5 Maggie Lam and #23 Alice Wu are expected to make a huge impact this season. Lam, a senior, is a versatile player who can handle the ball and play with her back to the basket. Despite being the team's tallest player at 5'8", she is constantly tasked with defending taller opponents and has worked on improving her midrange game during the offseason. Junior Alice Wu may be unassuming, but she is a strong slasher who can also hold her own on defense against some of the quickest players. Their experience and skills will be invaluable assets to the team. However, the team also has some new players who are expected to make an immediate impact. Sophomores #11 Kate Nagareda and #12 Meena Yarlagadda will provide a much-needed spark and depth to the team. Freshman #15 Charisse Chao has already shown a calmness and maturity beyond her years, handling pressure well and knocking down midrange shots. All three bring something different to the team and will be valuable additions to the roster. In terms of team leadership, senior #5 Maggie Lam has already been selected as team captain. Coach Admin Admin looks for players who possess qualities such as leadership, determination, and good communication skills when choosing captains. Having a positive team captain like Lam will definitely be an asset to the team this season. One of the biggest challenges the team has faced in preparing for this season is their small roster of only nine players. With one player taking a class that conflicts with practice and two others dealing with injuries, it has been tough to have a full team at practice consistently. But despite these challenges, the team remains determined and focused on the task at hand. The schedule for this season includes tough opponents such as Branham, who the team unfortunately lost to by only one point in their first game. However, the team will have another chance to face them later in the season. Another formidable opponent is Los
