As the Junction City High School baseball team gears up for the upcoming season, they have their sights set on making it to the state tournament and competing for a championship. I had the opportunity to sit down with Coach Admin Admin to get a preview of what we can expect from the team this year. When asked about the team's overall goals for this season, Coach Admin Admin confidently stated, "Our goal is to make it to a state tournament and put ourselves in a position to have a chance at winning it." With determination and hard work, the Junction City High School team is setting their sights high and aiming for success. One of the keys to achieving their goals is a strong focus on both defense and pitching. Coach Admin Admin emphasized, "Our success will depend on our ability to continue playing great defense and effectively pitching to hitters." However, he also acknowledged that to win games, the team will also need to perform well on offense and drive in runs. The Junction City High School team is led by a talented group of players, including Cael Smith, a junior who plays both shortstop and catcher. Coach Admin Admin describes Smith as a fundamentally sound player who is strong on both offense and defense. "He has pop in his bat and can run," says Coach Admin Admin. Smith's all-around skills make him a valuable asset to the team. Senior Cooper Bogenhagen is another player to watch this season. Described by Coach Admin Admin as a "true competitor," Bogenhagen is driven to win and gives his all every time he steps on the field. His competitive spirit and determination make him a leader on the team. Another key player for the Junction City High School team is senior Brock Bazan. His defensive skills make him a "wizard" on the field, and he is also a strong hitter. As one of the team's seniors, Bazan brings experience and leadership to the team. On the pitching side, senior Lincoln Upham stands out as the team's number one arm. Coach Admin Admin is confident that Upham's fastball and impressive off-speed will make him a dominant force on the mound this season. "He competes every time he's out there," says Coach Admin Admin. Senior Gavin Moore is also poised to make a big impact this season. His speed on the field and ability to hit make him a valuable player for the Junction City High School team.
