In his first full offseason as head coach, Charles Benintende is setting a new tone for Madison Consolidated Football—one built on discipline, development, and an unwavering belief in what’s possible. The Cubs are in a transformative phase, and it starts in the weight room and extends to every aspect of the program. Offseason Focus: Strength and Identity Since stepping in less than a year ago, Coach Benintende has prioritized building physical and mental toughness through rigorous offseason workouts. With a strong emphasis on strength and conditioning, players are preparing to execute the brand of football Madison is known for—physical, smart, and tough. Once spring sports wrap up, multi-sport athletes will rejoin the program full-force. Camps & Competition The team has planned multiple developmental opportunities this summer: 7-on-7 camps in Charlestown and Greenwood A team camp at Millikin University in July (pending scheduling) These camps aim to sharpen skills, build chemistry, and create early-season momentum. Roster Moves: A Youth Movement Begins After graduating 12 key contributors, Madison will rely on rising underclassmen to fill critical roles. While the senior class leaves big shoes to fill, the program’s foundation is strong. Young leaders are emerging, ready to rise to the challenge. Players to Watch: Leaders in the Making A talented core of returners and emerging stars has already shown leadership and work ethic this offseason: Matt McCarty (QB) Joseph Stanley (RB) Bryson Copeland (X Receiver) Corbin Fullenkamp (OL) Grady McDarment (OL) Izik Roberts (Outside Safety) Segar Ralston (CB) These players have been instrumental in leading lifting sessions, holding teammates accountable, and setting a high bar for the program. Training & Fitness: Modeled After the Best With guidance from mentors in SEC-level strength and conditioning, Coach Benintende has implemented a high-performance training plan—executed down to the detail. The results are evident: noticeable body transformations, weight gains, and speed improvements across the board. Fueling Performance: The Cub Kitchen Nutrition is a priority. Thanks to the “Cub Kitchen”—a community-driven initiative—players are provided with healthy snacks, fruits, peanut butter, and protein options after workouts. The community’s generosity ensures no player is left behind nutritionally. Coaching Philosophy: Three-Dimensional Leadership Coach Benintende promotes a “3D Coaching” philosophy, focusing on the body, mind, and heart. The coaching staff is unified, efficient, and focused on developing players as athletes and people. Time is respected. Effort is maximized. Community Connection: Service & Support The Cubs are visible and involved: Spreading mulch for local homes Volunteering at festivals and civic events Assisting with cleanup efforts in the community This active outreach is forging a deeper bond between the team and the people of Madison. “We love our parents and supporters,” Coach Benintende said. “There’s a standard here—and it’s beginning to echo through our fan base.” Challenges Ahead: Youth & Specialization This year’s biggest challenge? Youth and player retention. The team is young, and promising athletes are sometimes swayed away from football by pressure to specialize in other sports. Coach Benintende hopes to flip that narrative: “We have GREAT athletes here. We’re blessed, and I want our players to believe in what they can become—no matter what anyone says.” Madison Consolidated Football is more than a team—it’s a movement. Rooted in strength, heart, and hope for the future, the Cubs are on a mission to restore pride and build something lasting.
