As the spring season approaches, the Maize South High School baseball team is gearing up for what they hope will be a successful and competitive season. We sat down with Coach Admin Admin to get the inside scoop on the team's goals, strengths, weaknesses, and how they plan on building a cohesive and successful team this season. Coach Admin, who has been coaching in the district for 28 years, has a clear vision for the team's overall goals this season. He emphasizes the importance of being competitive in every game, throwing first-pitch strikes 70% of the time, and winning 2 out of the first 3 pitches that are thrown. Coach Admin points out that these seven seniors are a tight-knit group with a goal of returning to the state tournament this year at Wichita State University. As for new players, Coach Admin is hopeful that they will make an immediate impact on the team. While they may not be starting players, he sees them as valuable role players who will contribute to the team's success. When it comes to team captains, Coach Admin looks for players who have the qualities of someone that others want to play with and can rally the team when things get tough. He emphasizes that the players themselves choose the captains, as they are the ones who know the team dynamics best. This camaraderie and respect among teammates is crucial to the team's chemistry and success. To build this camaraderie, the team holds competitions during practices where players can root for each other and bond over their shared love for the game. Coach Admin also stresses the importance of daily interactions outside of the sport and consistent teaching of the game to cultivate a strong team dynamic. Motivating players to reach their full potential is also
