With a strong tradition behind them and a wave of new talent stepping in, Pieper High School Volleyball is entering the 2025 season with energy, determination, and a focus on building deep connections both on and off the court. Offseason Focus: Connection Over Everything For Head Coach Courtney Patton, this offseason has been all about forming bonds. “We lost quite a bit of our lineup, so building relationships and forming connections has been important,” Patton shared. As the team transitions with new leaders and roles, the chemistry formed now is expected to pay dividends when the season begins. Offseason Events: Summer League & Strength Pieper’s commitment to development continues through summer leagues and strength & conditioning programs, giving players the chance to compete while fostering team unity. The extra reps and bonding opportunities help create a foundation of trust and accountability that Coach Patton emphasizes. Key Departures and New Opportunities The team will miss its graduated senior class, who helped shape the team’s identity. But with change comes opportunity, and several young players are already stepping up. Players to Watch Coach Patton spotlighted several athletes to keep an eye on: Olivia Theis and Eva Planchet – Offensive standouts with the potential to lead the charge in attack. Addi Reus and Cayleigh Monson – Anchors on the defensive end, expected to make an impact with their grit and consistency. Their offseason work, from reps to leadership, has set the tone for the next generation of varsity contributors. Weight Room Gains: Lifting & Agility Work The strength of this year’s team may look different than before, but the preparation is just as intense. The program has leaned heavily into lifting and agility training, building physical resilience to match their mental toughness. Coaching Strategy: A New Look, Same Grit “We’ll look different than we have in the past couple of years—still strong, but in a different sense,” said Patton. With roster shifts, the coaching staff is embracing adaptability. The approach is fresh but rooted in the same high standards and relentless effort that define Pieper Volleyball. Challenges Ahead: Rising to the Moment The biggest challenge this year? Managing expectations. “There are high expectations for those new to varsity,” Patton noted. But with trust, chemistry, and off-court connections already forming, this new group is ready to meet the moment. A new chapter is underway at Pieper High School, and the message is clear: they’re not rebuilding—they’re reloading.
