The Rancho Verde High School Stunt team made history this year with a record-breaking season, securing the #1 spot in their league and preparing for a strong run in CIF playoffs. Key Contributors Junior Isabella Lopez stood out as a phenomenal base, consistently saving stunts and helping teammates sharpen their technique. Another key contributor, junior Daniela Zuniga, showcased incredible talent as a flyer and provided crucial leadership that kept the team focused and motivated throughout the season. Season Overview This was the best stunt season in Rancho Verde's history, culminating in a league championship and a CIF playoff berth. A season highlight was the thrilling victory over Orange Vista — a larger, co-ed team — proving that hard work and determination truly pay off. The girls' dedication was unmatched, often practicing both before and after school. Defining Moments The team’s only major setback came in a loss to Heritage High School, where injuries limited their skills. However, that loss became a turning point, instilling a sense of humility and fueling their determination to improve and push forward. Player Development Several athletes made impressive strides this season: Jur’Dyn Peters (sophomore) developed tremendously, learning and mastering new, advanced stunts. Analiyah Mackey (freshman) quickly rose to become one of the team’s top flyers despite having limited preparation time. Darla Hall (sophomore) expanded her roles significantly, excelling as a flyer, base, and back spot. Overcoming Challenges Despite injuries, tough losses, and pressure situations, the team consistently rose to the occasion. Even when warm-ups didn’t go as planned, these athletes delivered their best when it mattered most. Senior Leadership Seniors Iriana Garcia, Chelsea Patterson, Ashley Hernandez, and Valerie Ocampo were the backbone of the team. Their ability to perform in any role—whether base, back spot, flyer, or tumbler—was key to Rancho Verde’s incredible success. Looking Ahead Coach Gillard is thrilled about the future, particularly the growth of the underclassmen. Experiencing such a successful season has laid a strong foundation for next year’s squad to build upon and inspire future teammates. Offseason Focus The focus this offseason will be on improving technique and cleanliness, aiming to sharpen the team's routines and continue elevating the program's success.
