The 2024-25 season was one of growth, grit, and promise for Ripon High School’s boys soccer team. In my first year as head coach, I was impressed by the resilience and character of our squad and proud of how the players responded to the challenges we faced throughout the season. Key Leaders and Contributors This season’s foundation was built on the leadership of our team captains, Richard Langenfeld and Alejandro Prieto. Their presence on and off the field provided direction and inspiration, setting the tone for the rest of the squad. Two players in particular grew into significant roles as the season progressed. Freshman Isaac Ramos stepped up and took on a vital position, demonstrating poise and effectiveness beyond his years. Meanwhile, Armando Ayon showcased his versatility, adapting to multiple positions and performing consistently in each, always putting the team's needs first. Defining Moments and Highlights One of the most memorable highlights of the season came against Ripon Christian High School. Trailing 2-0, our team battled back with determination and heart to secure a thrilling 3-2 comeback victory. That game truly defined our resilience and belief in one another. Growth Through Adversity Like any season, we faced our share of adversity, including injuries and tough matchups. What stood out was our adaptability—we shifted players into new roles and adjusted strategies quickly. The team responded positively, learning from mistakes and maintaining composure under pressure. The Senior Legacy Our senior class played a crucial role in fostering a competitive and unified environment. Their leadership ensured our underclassmen stayed focused on team goals, setting an example of what it means to play with pride and purpose. Looking to the Future I’m excited about the future of this program. We have a talented group of underclassmen ready to take the next step, and the experience they gained this season will be invaluable. With continued growth and the right mindset, the foundation is strong for Ripon soccer to continue improving. Offseason Focus This offseason, our focus is on better game management—learning how to control the pace, make smarter decisions under pressure, and fine-tune our tactics. I’m confident that with dedication and hard work, we’ll come back even stronger. Stats Season stats and game results can be found on MaxPreps.
