This small but mighty team, led by Coach Gay Brokenbough, is ready to take on all challengers and make their mark in the competitive world of high school football. We had the chance to sit down with Coach Gay Brokenbough and get an inside look at the team and what fans can expect to see this season. With her knowledge and passion for the sport, Coach Brokenbough gave us a glimpse into what makes her team special and what we can expect from Santa Fe High School on the gridiron this year. Q: Can you give us some background about the Santa Fe High School football team and your role as head coach? A: The Santa Fe High School football team is a tight-knit group of players from a small town in Texas. Our team has a tradition of hard work, perseverance, and never giving up. I am honored to be the head coach of this team, and I have been in this role for 5 years now. It has been a privilege to lead these young men and help them develop both on and off the field. Q: What are your overall expectations for the team this year? A: Our main expectation is to compete at the highest level and leave everything out on the field. We have a young team this year, but we also have a lot of talented athletes who are ready to step up and make a name for themselves. We aim to make it to the playoffs and hopefully go all the way to the state championship. Q: What are some of the key strengths of the team this year? A: One of our biggest strengths is our tight-knit bond as a team. These players have been working together for a few years now, and their chemistry on and off the field is remarkable. We also have a lot of speed and agility on our team, which will be a huge advantage for us. Our defense is particularly strong this year, and we have some standout players on that side of the ball. Q: And on the flip side, what are some areas that the team is focused on improving this year? A: We are a young team, so we need to work on our consistency and execution.
