Coming off a State Championship win in 2023 and back-to-back seasons of graduating top talent, Signal Mountain Middle High School Volleyball is entering a new era. Head Coach Jennifer Redman is leading the program through a crucial offseason, focused on rebuilding, developing new leaders, and keeping the winning culture alive.
Offseason Focus
With the departure of key players—including the team’s main setter and one of its top outside hitters—the offseason focus is all about skill development, positional training, and team bonding. The coaching staff is working closely with returning players and newcomers to build chemistry and prepare athletes to take on bigger roles in the fall.
Camps & Summer Development
This summer, Signal Mountain will participate in two key team camps:
Muncie Team Camp in Knoxville
Sewanee Satellite Team Camp is hosted right at Signal Mountain
These camps provide valuable court time, competitive reps, and the perfect opportunity to strengthen relationships within the team.
Roster Updates & Coaching Additions
The biggest shift this offseason is the graduation of nearly the entire starting lineup from the 2023 State Championship team, leaving just one returning starter. In a move to better support player development, Coach Redman has added a volunteer assistant coach to help with position-specific training during practices, a resource that will be especially helpful for a young roster.
Players to Watch
All eyes are on Becca Rogers, a rising senior and All-State outside hitter, who will lead the charge this season. Becca plays Club volleyball and has participated in several showcases during the offseason, continuing to push her game to the next level and setting the tone for her teammates.
Health, Nutrition & Mindset
While there’s no formal nutrition program, Coach Redman and her staff emphasize healthy fueling, proper hydration, sleep, and mental wellness. They remind players regularly about the importance of taking care of both body and mind, highlighting positive habits on and off the court, including thoughtful use of social media.
Biggest Challenges Ahead
With so many new faces, team chemistry and leadership are the biggest challenges heading into the 2025–2026 season. But if the offseason effort is any indication, Signal Mountain is up for the task of rebuilding and competing at a high level once again.
Looking Ahead
The faces may be different, but the mindset remains the same. With strong leadership from Coach Redman, a dedicated coaching staff, and a culture of accountability and excellence, Signal Mountain Middle High School Volleyball is ready to rise again.
